Hello, Nirvana!

I really liked the way I threw the ball last week, it was only the second time that I got to league in time to practice and bowl all three games, and it was the first night I was going to get to use the new Brunswick Nirvana. So, obviously, I was pretty fired up to hit the lanes tonight. Here's how it went:

Game 1

9/ X X X 81 X 9/ X X 9/X - 215

Even though I know it's way more ball than I need for this house shot, I decided to give the new Nirvana a shot. As I said in my mini-review, this ball is seriously strong. I had to stand roughly 8-6 deeper than where I normally start the night, and I had to be sure to keep the ball tucked in the oil. If not, it was just way too strong.

Despite being more ball than was needed, the Nirvana still delivered outstanding performance. Stone 9-pin in the first, high-flush 4-9 in the fifth, solid 8-pin in the 7th, and half ten in the 10th. Other than that, the Nirvana was throwing pins around like it was its job. I don't know if I'll force the issue and keep using it in league, but when I get on some heavier and/or longer tournament patterns, this ball is going to be sick!

Game 2

X 81 9/ X X 9/ 9/ X 8/ X72 - 195

Trying to play it smart, I moved back right and broke out the Mastermind Einstein, which is a ball I haven't thrown much in competition just yet. With the pin under middle drilling, the Einstein is super smooth for me, so I figured I go a bit more with the wood and lessen my chances of 4-9 combos by making the switch.

The Einstein gave me a good look. Sadly, I just didn't execute as well this game. As such, I was all around the pocket, but I wasn't throwing it well enough to get the hit that I would had I been throwing it better. As such, this game game and went with a very mediocre 195.

Game 3

X X X 8/ X X X X X XXX - 278

As I have stated several times already, I LOVE the Brute Strength. It's one of those balls that gives me confidence the moment I pick it up. I should probably just start using this ball right from the start because it always seems to give me the look I want to see. Eleven strikes pretty much speaks for itself. The only miss was a 6-10 when the ball picked up way earlier than I expected and went through the nose. After that shot, I moved 5-3 left and had exactly what I needed the rest of the way.

In the end, three balls and three lines resulted in 688 for the evening. All three balls were outstanding, but the Brute Strength continues to be the shining star, helping me card that 278 and run my current Game-3 average to 255 thus far. Next week, I will strongly consider coming out with the Brute Strength from the very beginning. I'll have to square up a bit, but I don't think that will hurt me. With how good I feel with this ball, using it from the very beginning could help me make a decent run at a truly big-time set. I guess we'll see!

As always, thanks for reading!
