COMMENTS
Likes: Very easy push through the heads, control at the break point, enough core to hit while still being controllable
Dislikes: None; this is exactly what I want/need from my light-condition ball.
The Strike King is in the bag to give me an option when the heads are completely blown up and/or when the backends are flying out of the house. As many of you know, it's not always easy to combat these conditions because most reactive balls are either too flippy down the lane or so devoid of core that they hit like marshmallows when you get them to the pocket. That is NOT the case with the Strike King!
The Strike King clears the heads with absolute ease. Compared to my Melee Jab, which is usually the first ball I go to when I need something to push and recover, the Strike King is easily 10-12 boards weaker for me in a good way. The one problem I have with my Jab is that it really, really likes to come off the spot down lane. The issue with that is that it makes me really have to come up the back of the ball to tame down the back end and keep the ball going through the pins the right way. When I use the Strike King, I don't have to do that; I can keep the ball in front of me and give it my A-game release because the ball won't over-react and go sideways. The biggest plus, however, is the hitting power. Most "light oil" balls I've thrown have very little core, so carry has tended to be an issue. That is not the case with the Strike King. The Strike King Symmetrical core offers hitting power that is on par with the high end balls I am throwing.
I think that the Strike King is perfect for tournament players who need something to combat drying heads or flying backends or for entry-level bowlers looking for a good reactive ball to learn the ropes with. Long story short, just about any bowler can find a reason to love the Strike King!
