Likes: The Melee is remarkably controllable, especially when you need to control backend reaction.

 

Dislikes: None; this is one of the best control balls I've thrown to date. 

 

The Melee is a perfect benchmark ball. It is smooth, even, and controllable from foul line to pin deck. If the backends are flying, the Melee really comes to life. I brought it out during this year's Open Championships, and it was exactly what the doctor ordered. I was able to use it playing straight up the lane and when I had to jump inside. This year's patterns demand control, and the Melee gave me all that I needed and then some. Basically, this ball will shine whenever you need control. I'm not sure it's going to be the move deep and swing the lane crowd pleaser some bowlers want - unless the backends are dry - but if you need something that's smooth, controllable, and hard-hitting, you're going to LOVE the Melee.
